Preserve South Australian south coast surfing culture and heritage through the establishment of a National Surfing Reserve from Goolwa Beach to Parsons Beach as the ENCOUNTER COAST SURFING RESERVE

Promote the Encounter Marine Park and the relevant objectives of Southern Fleurieu Coastal Action Plan

Ensure surfers and the broader community are educated in best practise behaviour when in the Reserve.

Acknowledge the history and cultural connections of the Ramindjeri and Ngarrindjeri peoples in their relationship with sea and country in and around the Reserve

Recognise and respect the legitimate interests of all stakeholders and recreational users compatible with the aims and objectives of the Encounter Coast Surfing Reserve.

Engage with regional bodies in the development of a sustainable surfing tourism strategy for the Encounter Coast

Acknowledge the importance of economic benefits and value of the contribution of surfing to the region

Engage and collaborate with SSA, Surfing and SLSA clubs and other relevant associations.

Celebrate South Australian south coast surfing culture and heritage through events and creative projects and partnerships
